I think that there is a lack of childcare in the city, the country seems to hold it self ok. Do parents hold out waiting for what they feel is quality childcare? Well I think that when it comes down to it, so they should. They're thinking of their children, so they should be allowed to be 'fussy' when chosing the right care to suit their (families) needs. If childcare is too expensive, it's probably because centres have to raise costs to cover quality carers and resources. I don't believe the majority of australian families are well off, I just think that for the money they would spend on care compared to the wage they would receive going back to work, the benefits are to stay at home with their child(ren).

What do you think?

The news article from The Age on the Lack of Child Care Costs Jobs again seems to support the arguments of both sides of federal politics.

The opposition seems to think that child care is too expensive or too scarce.

The government thinks that Australians are well off enough to either care for the children themselves or make a choice on quality childcare.

What side of the fence do you sit? Or are you directly on top...
