Who would you report suspected child abuse to after hours? This is only a question for an assessment

You can report it to DOCS (department of community services)24 hour hotline 132 111 is the number to call. You do not have to inform your director but it would be wise. It will allow them to know your suspisions and they may have additional information all ready. It will also build trust between co-workers (yourself and the director).

For more information on why it is important to report suspected child abuse and/or neglect I would suggest you read
The code of ethics, this was developed in 1990 by Early Childhood Australia and they have this on their site
    http://www.earlychildhoodaustralia.org.au/code_of_ethics/early_childhood_australias_code_of_ethics.html

Another beneficial piece of information that any childcare professional should read and familiarise themselves with is The Declaration of the Rights Of The Child

Let me know if you would like any additional information.

Please find a correction in relation to The Code Of Ethics. The original code was developed in 1990 but Early Childhood Australia have since re-written the code, the latest version was published in 2006.
