hi its kerri again this might sound silly to you people who have your cert III and diploma's just a Question: Why is it important that children services workers share their concerns with someone in the service and notify their supervisor' rahter than dealing with them on their own?

it's not silly. For me, I would share my concerns with co-workers, supervisors because not only does it help with the stress of the concern, but they may be able to offer you information you didn't know about. It is also good if you can't do anything to progress the concern, and they may be able to.
If you're worried about a child's development they can seek assistance from services like early intervention. If you're worried about co-workers work ethics, discussing your concerns with the service director, stops you from building up frustrations that can be dealt with straight away. If it is something like oh&s issues the director may hold an information night.
If anyone else has got any ideas, please feel free to share them.
