I read an article about a 4 year old child who died after a fire was caused from a faulty fan (USA).
It made me think about our services, some are very safe and clean and some are not.
Does your service keep there equipment clean and safe?
At one service we had weekly checks of equipment, if it was safe and if it needed fixing. It was really good for working out problems. Though sometimes if we didn't have enough money it took a while to get fixed. This wasn't such a big deal when you decide should the children risk playing with the item and hurting themselves, or leave it there to play with so it looks like you have lots of equipment. I would prefer not to explain that a child was hurt because of unsafe equipment.
